Scaffolding Collapse Kills Construction Worker

This case takes place in New York and involves a construction worker who was killed while working on a building facade. The defendant hired an outside corporation to install scaffolding equipment around the exterior of the building that the defendant was restoring, in order to facilitate extensive aesthetic changes to the building’s facade. The decedent was required to climb on the scaffolding equipment to perform bricklaying services on the building. During the course of his duties, a large amount debris fell from a high floor on the building, striking the decedent and the scaffolding. The scaffolding was unable to sustain the impact from the falling debris, and quickly collapsed, killing the construction worker and resulting in several serious injuries to others.

Expert Witness Response E-009211

inline imageI have a great deal of knowledge and experience in the materials used / and the manufacturing methods used to fabricate scaffolding assemblies. I have spent my entire career in the industrial metallurgy space and have provided metallurgical and quality science consulting for a wide range of metalworking companies in the Midwest. I have served as an expert in numerous metallurgy cases and would be happy to review this case on behalf of the plaintiff. Please let me know how I may offer further assistance. This is a tragic case and it's very unfortunate that this employee died due to the failure of the scaffolding.
