Prof. Sajid Alavi specializes in food engineering and more specifically in the areas of extrusion processing of human food, pet food and animal feed materials. He earned his BS in Agricultural Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and then his MS in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Pennsylvania State University before completing a PhD in Food Science and Engineering at Cornell University. He is an active member of the American Association of Cereal Chemists and the Institute of Food Technologists. Serving as a university Professor in the Midwest, he teaches courses on extrusion processing in the food and feed industries.
