Prof. Michele Deitch earned her BA in from Amherst College before earning her MSc in experimental psychology from Oxford University and JD from Harvard Law School. She previously worked as general counsel at the Texas Senate Committee on Criminal Justice and as the policy director for the Texas Punishment Standards Commission. She also served as an independent consultant and an adjunct professor in the public affairs department at the University of Texas, Austin. Currently, she is a senior lecturer in the law department at a university and the chair of the sheriff's advisory board of a women's jail in Texas.
