Mr. Wissam Akra

Mr. Wissam Akra is a licensed professional engineer in NY with more than 10 years of experience. He earned his BS in civil engineering from the American University of Beirut as well as his MS in civil engineering and construction management from Columbia University. He is an expert on New York’s fire prevention and building code and has successfully managed inspections leading to the formal issuance of certificates of occupancy. He is also on the advisory board for the Center for Buildings, Infrastructure, and Public Space and serves as a guest lecturer at Columbia University. Formerly, this expert held several leading roles with the multinational engineering and design firm, Parsons Brinckerhoff, including work as a field engineer and inspector for projects at Grand Central Terminal and Johnson Avenue Yard and as a resident engineer for Metropolitan Transit Authority's construction of the Second Avenue Subway. Currently, this expert is working as a design-build coordinator for a prominent construction company in NY where he specializes in coordinating project pursuits, construction management, logistics, and planning.
