Mr. Ross Thompson

Mr. Ross Thompson has over 30 years of experience in military procurement. He earned his BS in biology from William & Mary College followed by an MA in operations research and systems analysis from George Washington University, an MA in international relations from Salve Regina University, and an MA in national security from the Naval College of Command and Staff. He served for 36 years in the United States Army, retiring as a lieutenant general. His last assignments were as the principal military deputy, as the director of program analysis and evaluation, and as the Army’s senior acquisition officer. In this position, he directed the Army’s acquisition workforce, the program managers for all of the army’s weapons systems, and provided policy and programmatic direction for the Army’s contracting and research and development programs. He also served as the commanding general of the Army's Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command. Currently, this expert serves as a senior acquisition official at a defense acquisition university and as a commissioner on an acquisitions process panel in Virginia.
