Mr. Robert Lee Gibson has over 57 years of experience in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerodynamics, and Flight Testing. He earned his AAS in Aeronautical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University Cal Poly and his BS in Engineering Sciences from the State University of New York Suffolk County Community College. Currently, he is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration as an Airline Transport Pilot and Flight Instructor. While at NASA, he served as the Chief of the Astronaut Office, as Deputy Director of Flight Crew Operations.
