Mr. Michael Cynecki, PE, PTOE

Mr. Michael Cynecki, PE, PTOE is a renowned authority on bicycle lane engineering and pedestrian safety. He earned his BS and MS in civil engineering from Wayne State University and is a licensed professional engineer and traffic operations engineer. Throughout his 39-year career in transportation engineering, he has extensively published on bicycle-lane design and pedestrian safety and has taught training courses on these topics for both the National Highway Institute and the Federal Highway Administration. Additionally, he has been heavily involved in the Transportation Research Board for more than 30 years and served as a chair of the pedestrian committee and the section chair for the pedestrian, bicycle, and motorcycle committees. This expert formerly led a 26-year career as a traffic engineer with the fifth largest city in the US and has played an instrumental role in designing the city's bicycle master plan.
