Mr. Gurkan Ay, PhD

Mr. Gurkan Ay is a Director in the Washington, DC office of Resolution Economics, LLC. He conducts economic and statistical analysis for labor and employment matters and financial fraud investigations. He has significant experience in employment discrimination class actions and proactive monitoring of pay equity. Gurkan’s experience also includes statistical analyses for housing discrimination cases and environmental justice matters. He helps clients with DEI&A reporting needs for public disclosure and ESG reporting purposes, and with the proactive analysis and compliance needs related to Algorithmic Bias and Artificial Intelligence based tools used in employment decisions. He has presented at seminars on topics including proactive pay equity analyses and class actions, internal investigations, bias audits related to New York City’s Automated Employment Decision Tools Law, and broader adverse impact analysis of automated decisions tools.
