Dr. Mathias Brieu

Dr. Mathias Brieu specializes in the biomedical engineering of soft tissues such as the pelvic floor and the development of medical devices for surgery. He earned his BS in mechanical engineering and his MS at Pierre et Marie Curie University as well as his PhD in mechanical engineering at Ecole Normale Superieure in France. He is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineer and the European Society of Biomechanics. This expert has worked for 13 years with gynecologists on understanding the physiology and physiopathology of the female pelvic system. He has developed a reference protocol for the destructive characterization of pelvic soft tissue. He has published over 80 papers in scientific journals and over 700 citations. Currently, he serves as a professor of mechanical engineering at a major university in California.
