Dr. Vivek Moitra, MD, MHA, FCCM

Dr. Vivek K. Moitra has years of experience in the field of Anesthesiology with expertise in Critical Care Medicine, and Neurocritical Care. He earned his BA in International Relations from Brown University, his MD from Tulane University School of Medicine, and his MHA in Health Care Administration and Health Management from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. After completing his residency in Anesthesia at UChicago Medicine, he went on to complete a fellowship in Critical Care Anesthesiology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Today, this expert is board-certified in Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, Neurocritical Care, and Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography. Previously, he served as an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and as an Associate Medical Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Currently, he serves as an Allen I. Hyman Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and as the Chief of the Division of Critical Care Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, and as the Program Director of Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He also serves as the Medical Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit and as an Attending Physician at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
