Dr. Virendra I. Patel has 15 years of experience in Vascular Surgery. He earned his BS in Biochemical Engineering from the Rutgers University School of Engineering, his BA in Biology from Rutgers University, and his MD from the Tufts University School of Medicine. He also obtained his MPH in Clinical Effectiveness from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health years later. After completing both an internship and a residency in General Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, he went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. Today, this expert is board certified in Vascular Surgery through the American Board of Surgery/American Board of Vascular Surgery and is certified in Nuclear Cardiology through the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. He is also a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Formerly, this expert held roles as an Associate Director of the General Surgery Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and as an Instructor in the Department of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is also the Co-Director of the Aortic Center and the Division Chief of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Interventions at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he also serves as a Vascular Surgeon.
