Dr. Tahir Ekin

This statistician earned his BS in industrial engineering from Bilkent University and a PhD in decision sciences from The George Washington University. He currently serves as an associate professor of quantitative methods at a university in Texas where his teaching and research interests include applied statistics, data mining and operations research with a focus on decision making models under uncertainty and statistical medical fraud assessment. He is a member of multiple professional societies including the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science, the International Society of Bayesian Analysis, and The International Society for Business and Industrial Statistics. He is the recipient of several grants for his work developing operational research methods and statistical applications for healthcare fraud detection and his work has been published in a number of academic journals including International Statistical Review, Decision Analysis, Naval Research Logistics, and Health Care Management Science.
