Dr. Sara Vargas, MD

Dr. Sara O. Vargas has 24 years of experience in the field of Pathology. She earned her BA from Harvard University and her MD from the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine. After completing her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, she went on to complete her fellowship in Pediatric Pathology at Boston Children's Hospital. Today, this expert is board certified in Pediatric Pathology, as well as Anatomic Pathology & Clinical Pathology through the American Board of Pathology. Formerly, she held roles as a Consultant Pathologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, as the Director of Compliance in the Department of Pathology at Boston Children's Hospital, and as an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School. Currently, she serves as a Staff Pathologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital, as a Consulting Pathologist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and as an Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School. She is also the Director of Quality and Safety within the Department of Pathology at Boston's Children's Hospital, where she also serves as an Attending Pathologist.
