Dr. Robert Schmidt, PhD, MD

Dr. Robert E. Schmidt has 43 years of experience in the fields of Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology. He earned his BA from Washington University in St. Louis and both his MD and Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed both an internship and a residency in Pathology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Today, this expert is board certified in Pathology, Anatomic Pathology, and Neuropathology. Formerly, this expert served as an Associate Professor of Pathology in the Division of Neuropathology at the Washington University School of Medicine. Currently, he serves as a Professor of Pathology and Immunology in the Division of Neuropathology, as the Director of the Division of Neuropathology, as the Director of the Research Electron Microscopy Core Laboratory, and as the Director of Electron Microscopy Facility at the Washington University School of Medicine. He is also a Pathologist at St. Louis Children's Hospital and Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
