Dr. Richard D. Patten has over 30 years of experience in the field of Cardiovascular Disease, and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. He earned his BA in Chemistry from Colby College and his MD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. After completing his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center, he went on to complete a research fellowship in Heart Failure at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He also completed two fellowships in Cardiology and in Interventional Cardiology at the Tufts Medical Center. Today, this expert is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. Formerly, this expert held roles as a Medical Director of the Ventricular Assist Device Program at the Catholic Medical Center, as a Staff Cardiologist, and as the Director of Lahey Health Integrated Heart Failure Network at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. Currently, he works as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine and as a Physician and Chief of the Heart Failure Division at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.
