Dr. Patrick A. Flume has 30 years of experience in the field of Pulmonary Disease. He earned his BA in English from the University of Washington and his MD from the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine. After completing his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, he went on to complete a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Today, this expert is board certified in Pulmonary Disease. Formerly, this expert held roles as an Interim Director in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy, and Sleep Medicine and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina. Currently, he serves as a Professor in the Department of Medicine and Pediatrics and as the Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center and Therapeutic Development Network (TDN) Research Site at the Medical University of South Carolina. He also serves as the Powers-Huggins Endowed Chair of Cystic Fibrosis and as an Associate Vice President for Clinical Research in the Office of the Vice President for Research at the Medical University of South Carolina.
