After completing his internship in Surgery and his residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery, he went on to complete his fellowships in Surgery, Defibrillator Surgery, and Mechanical Cardiac Assistance at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Currently, he serves as Calvin F. Barber Professor of Surgery, Director of the Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery and Arrhythmia Surgery Programs, and the Thoracic Surgery Residency Program in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He also works as the Chair of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Garnet Health Medical Center.
