Dr. Louis Costa

Dr. Louis Costa has over a decade of experience in general surgery, and he specializes in laparoscopic surgery. He earned his BS in biology from Juniata College, before receiving both his MS in biomedical sciences and physiology and his DO from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to complete both an internship and residency in general surgery at PinnacleHealth-Community General Osteopathic Hospital and a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery at Surgix Inc. Today, this expert is board-certified in general surgery. He is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. He has also had multiple past committee appointments. This expert has previously served as a general surgeon at a private practice, Midstate Insitute of Surgery, Commonwealth Health at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, and the Wyoming Valley Surgical Group. He has also worked as an associate clinical professor of general surgery at The Commonwealth Medical College. He is currently a general surgeon at a private practice and two regional hospitals in Delaware, where he focuses on advanced laparoscopic, general and gastrointestinal surgery, breast surgery, endoscopy, and wound care.
