Dr. Krzysztof Palczewski has over 38 years of experience in the fields of Clinical Pharmacology and Chemistry with expertise in Ophthalmology. He earned his MS in Organic Chemistry from the University of Wroclaw and his PhD in Biochemistry from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Politechnika Wrocławska). Formerly, this expert held roles as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology, as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Oregon Health and Science University, and as an Assistant and Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Washington. Currently, he serves as a Professor in the Departments of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physiology and Biophysics, and Ophthalmology, and as the Irving H. Leopold Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of California, Irvine. He is also the Director of the Vision Science Training Program and Center for Translational Vision Research at UCI Gavin Herbert Eye Institute, the Distinguished University Professor at Case Western Reserve University, and the Co-Founder of Polgenix Inc. and Hyperion Therapeutics, Inc.
