Dr. Kris Chesky

Dr. Kris Chesky has nearly 40 years of experience as a musician and music educator as well as 20 years of experience in auditory safety. He received his bachelor of music from Berklee College of Music and then went on to receive his masters and PhD in music education from the University of North Texas. He is the founding director of the Texas Center for Music & Medicine which established a unique research center focused on protecting musicians, most notably, their hearing. He has won numerous awards including the Golden Lobe Award from the National Hearing Conservation Association and the Safe & Sound Award from the National Institutes of Occupational Safety and Health. In the past, he has served as a case manager at the Comp Care Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas and as an associate professor of music at the University of North Texas. Currently, he is a professor of music at a university in Texas as well as the co-director of the Texas Center for Performing Arts at a university in Texas.
