Dr. Kent W. Kercher has 24 years of experience in the field of Surgery. He earned his BA in Political Science from Davidson College and his MD from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. After completing both an internship and residency in General Surgery at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, he went on to complete a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at UMass Memorial Health Endoscopy Center. Today, this expert is board certified in Surgery. Formerly, this expert served as a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and as the Vice Chief of Surgery at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center. He currently serves as a Physician within the Division of Gastrointestinal and Minimally Invasive Surgery, as the Co-Director of the Carolinas Laparoscopic and Advanced Surgery Program, the Chief of Minimal Access Surgery, and as the Co-Director of the Carolinas Hernia Center at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center. Moreover, he is also the Director of the Adrenal Center and Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs in the Department of Surgery at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.
