Dr. Katherine K. Matthay has 43 years of experience in the field of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. After completing both an internship and residency in Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, she went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the UCSF Medical Center. She currently serves as a Professor (Recalled Faculty) and as a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Pediatrics at the UCSF School of Medicine, where she also holds the title of Mildred V. Strouss Endowed Chair in Translational Research in Pediatric Oncology. She is also the Chief of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco, where she also serves as an Attending Physician on the Pediatric Oncology Service and the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Service. Moreover, she is also an Associate at the UCSF Brain Tumor Center.
