Dr. Jeffrey Burns, MD, MPH

Dr. Jeffrey P. Burns has 24 years of experience in the field of Pediatrics and Critical Care Medicine. He earned his BA in Economics, History, and Philosophy from Wesleyan University, his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine, and his MPH from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. After completing his residency in Pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital, he went on to complete two fellowships in Pediatric Critical Care and Medical Ethics at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, respectively. Today, this expert is board certified in Pediatrics and Critical Care Medicine. Formerly, this expert held roles as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor of Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School. Currently, he serves as the Chief and Shapiro Endowed Chair in Critical Care Medicine, Executive Chair of Global Health Services, and Senior Associate in the Division of Critical Care Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital and as a Faculty Associate at the Center for Bioethics at Harvard Medical School, and as the Professor of Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School. He also serves as a Professor of Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School.
