Dr. J. Michael Millis has 30 years of experience in the fields of General Surgery and Transplant Surgery. He earned his BA in Chemistry and Political Science from Emory University, his MD from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine, and his MBA with an emphasis in Medical Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. After completing an internship and residency in Surgery at the University of California Los Angeles Medical Center, he went on to complete a fellowship in Transplant Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He also completed another fellowship in Medical Ethics at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics years later. Today, this expert is board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care through the American Board of Surgery. Formerly, this expert served as the Director of the Transplant Center, Tissue Bank, and Transplant Immunology Laboratory at UChicago Medicine. He was also a Surgeon at NorthShore University Hospital and Children's Wisconsin. He currently serves as the Director of Hepatobiliary Surgery and as the Director of the Clinical Leadership Development Fellowship Program at The University of Chicago Medical Center. He is also the Faculty Director of the University of Chicago Center in Beijing.
