Dr. Grant Buttram

This spinal neurosurgeon earned his BS and his MS in physiology from North Carolina State University. He continued to earn his MD from East Carolina University and his MBA from Duke University. Afterward, he completed a residency in neurosurgery and a fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery at the University of Tennessee. He is board-certified in neurosurgery and remains active in his field as a fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and a member of the North American Spine Society and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. Formerly, he was an attending spine surgeon at Raleigh Neurosurgery and the medical director of neurosurgery at Rex Neurosurgery and Spine Institute. Currently, he is a product development consultant for multiple medical device firms and the co-director and attending spinal neurosurgeon at a university-affiliated private practice in NC.
