Dr. A. Gordon Smith has 26 years of experience in the fields of Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine. He earned his BA in Archaeology from the University of Virginia and his MD from the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. After completing an internship in internal medicine and a residency in Neurology, he went on to complete a fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine, all at the University of Michigan Hospital. He also completed a research fellowship in Cutaneous Innervation at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Today, this expert is board certified in Neuromuscular Medicine and Neurology. Formerly, this expert served as the Director of the Jack H. Petajan EMG Laboratory and the Cutaneous Nerve Laboratory at the Univerity of Utah School of Medicine, where he also served as a Professor of Neurology. He currently serves as the C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Distinguished Chair in Clinical and Translational Research in Neurology, as the Chair of Neurology, and as a Professor of Neurology at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He is also a physician at VCU Medical Center.
