Dr. Gloria Maria Spencer

Dr. Gloria Maria Spencer has 20 years of experience in OR, ICU, and PACU nursing. She earned her ASN from Galveston Junior College and her BSN from Pan American University, before receiving her MS in public health nursing from the University of Texas at Brownsville and her EdD in health science education from the University of Houston. Today, she is a licensed registered nurse and an active member of the American Society of Pain Management Nurses. This expert previously served as a staff nurse in the ICU at St. Mary's Hospital, as a staff nurse in the OR at the University of Texas Medical Branch, the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Hospital, and Valley Regional Medical Center. She also worked as the head nurse in the OR at Valley Community Hospital, as the director of OR/PACU/anesthesia nursing at the HCA Valley Regional Medical Center, as the director of vocational nursing at the University of Texas at Brownsville, as the coordinator of continuing education at the UTHSC-Houston School of Nursing, and as the interim director of OR/PACU nursing at Christus St. Catherine Hospital. Most recently, this expert was the senior nursing instructor in the PACU at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and a perioperative nurse educator at St. Joseph Medical Center.
