Dr. Gerald Smetana, MD, MACP

Dr. Gerald Smetana has years of experience in the fields of Internal Medicine and Primary Care. He earned his BS in Biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his MD from the University of California, San Francisco. He completed both an internship and residency in Medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Today, this expert is board-certified in Internal Medicine. Formerly, he served as an Associate in Medicine in the Division of General Medicine and Primary Care and as the Director of the Inpatient Medical Consultation Service at the Beth Israel Hospital. Most recently, he served as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and as the Director of Continuing Medical Education at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He currently serves as an Active Staff Member in the Division of General Medicine and Primary Care at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is also a Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School.
