Dr. Eugene D. Shapiro has 41 years of experience in the field of Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. He earned his BA in English Literature from Yale University and his MD from UCSF School of Medicine. After completing his residency in Pediatrics at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, he went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Today, this expert is board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Formerly, this expert held roles as the Director of Pediatric Emergency Services at Yale New Haven Hospital, as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine, and as an Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health at Yale School of Public Health. Currently, he serves as a Professor of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine, as a Professor of Epidemiology and Microbial Diseases at Yale School of Public Health, and as a Professor of Investigative Medicine at Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. He is also the Deputy Director of Ph.D. Program in Investigative Medicine, the Co-Director of Education at the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation, the Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Pediatrics, and the Director of Grant Writing and Evaluation in the Office of Physician-Scientist and Scientist Development at Yale School of Medicine.
