Dr. Deborah Spitz, MD

This psychiatrist has been practicing for 30 years and is now also a faculty member of medical ethics in Illinois. She received her BA from Cornell University and her MD from the University of Pennsylvania. She then went on to train as a resident in psychiatry and then a fellow in adult inpatient psychiatry at the University of Chicago. Later, she went back to train as a fellow in medical ethics at the University of Chicago's MacLean Center. She is a member of over 5 medical associations including the Association of Academic Psychiatrists and the Association of the Advancement of Philosophy and Psychiatry. She has held many different positions at the University of Chicago and has worked her way up from assistant professor to full professor of psychiatry. This expert is highly involved in resident training and has accumulated numerous awards for her instructing from her university. Not only is she also a full professor, she is also now a part of the faculty for medical ethics at a major medical ethics center in Illinois. This expert has published 7 articles in primary literature, 6 book chapters and has been asked to speak locally and nationally over 50 times.
