Dr. David E. Bernstein has 30 years of experience in the field of Gastroenterology. He earned his BA from Johns Hopkins University and his MD from the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. After completing an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, he went on to complete his fellowships in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, respectively, through the University of Miami Health System. Today, this expert is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine. Formerly, he served as the Chief of the Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Division at North Shore University Hospital and as a Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Science Education, the Head of the Liver Sub-Specialty Service Line, and Vice Chair of Medicine for Clinical Trials at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He was also the Chief of the Hepatology Division and the Director of the Sandra Atlas Bass Center for Liver Diseases for Northwell Health. Currently, he serves as a Professor in the Department of Medicine at NYU Long Island School of Medicine and as the Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Ambulatory Network at NYU Langone Health.
