Dr. Carla Ellis

This board-certified expert has over a decade of experience practicing pathology. She obtained her BS from Howard University before earning her MS in anatomic pathology from the University of Maryland. She then received her MD from the University of Nevada. She completed her residency in pathology and two fellowships--one in medical renal pathology and the other in genitourinary pathology--all at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital. Throughout her career, she has served on numerous national and international organizations and has been published dozens of times. She also serves on the editorial board of several publications in the fields of pathology, nephrology, and urology. Previously, she was an assistant professor in the department of pathology and laboratory medicine at Emory University. This expert is currently an associate professor of pathology and laboratory medicine as well as an associate director of the renal pathology service, and a member of the resident recruitment committee at a major medical school in Illinois.
