Dr. Alfredo Sadun, MD, PhD

Dr. Alfredo A. Sadun has years of experience in the field of Ophthalmology with expertise in Optic Neuropathy. He earned his BS in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his Ph.D. in Neuroscience, and his MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. After completing his internship in Medicine at Huntington Hospital and his residency in Ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, he went on to complete his fellowships in Ophthalmology and Neuro-Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. He also completed research fellowships at the Marine Biological Laboratory, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Huntington Medical Research, and Massachusetts Eye and Ear. Today, this expert is board certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Formerly, he held roles such as Vice-Chair in the Department of Ophthalmology, as Director of Laboratories for Optic Nerve Studies at the University of Southern California, and as the Flora Thornton Endowed Chair of Vision Research. Currently, he serves as a Scientist at Doheny Eye Institute, as a Flora Thornton Endowed Chair of Vision Research and as a Vice-Chair in the Department of Ophthalmology and the Professor-in-Residence at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
