He received his BS in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University before earning his MBA from the University of Michigan. He is a certified professional engineer and a member of several organizations, including the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Society of Automotive Engineers, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He is active in his field as an author of numerous publications and as an invited lecturer at multiple conferences throughout his career. He has formerly served as the principal engineer at OEM Carburetors, the director of CIM consulting at KPMG Peat Marwick, and the vice president and director of manufacturing and industrial engineering for Smith, Hinchman, & Grylls Associates. Currently, this expert is the principal of an engineering consulting group in Michigan.
