This Tennessee based expert entered the waste management industry in 1988, joining the old Browning-Ferris Industries as a District Manager of Environmental, Safety and Health for the Nashville District, covering 22,500 square miles. He was responsible for hiring, training, risk management, claims and compliance with OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations. He later became the Director of Solid Waste for the city of Franklin, TN, where he oversaw the conception and completion of a Municipal Services Complex that included a new 500-ton per day transfer station and 20,000 square foot operations center. He has been a member of the Solid Waste Association of North America for almost twenty years, and is certified to teach in Collections, Transfer Station, Recycling, Integrated Solid Waste Management and Principals of Solid Waste Management. He has written or edited numerous textbooks for the organization.
