Expert Qualifications

This expert has over 25 years of experience in phlebotomy and laboratory medicine. He received his BS in medical technology from Louisiana State University before earning both his MS and PhD in health sciences and clinical laboratory science from Rutgers University. He is a certified medical technologist and licensed as a clinical laboratory technologist in New York. This expert is active in his field as a member of several organizations, including the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the International Society for Laboratory Hematology, and the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science. He is a frequent speaker at scientific meetings in the US and around the world; and written numerous publications and authored chapters in hematology textbooks. He has held several roles throughout his career in which he oversaw the clinical hematology laboratories and phlebotomy departments at institutions such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, St. Vincent’s Cancer Center and Beth Israel Medical Center. He has written numerous policies and procedures, standards, and developed quality assurance programs in laboratory medicine and phlebotomy. Currently, this expert is an assistant adjunct professor of advanced hematology and hemostasis at a major university in New Jersey, as well as a medical and scientific affairs adviser for a medical technology company.
