This expert in health and fitness has decades of academic and industry experience in personal fitness training. He began his career completing a BS at Southeast Missouri State in Health Management and then continued on to complete a Master degree in Exercise Physiology where he graduated summa cum laude. For four years prior to starting his PhD, this expert worked as a clinical exercise physiologist during which time he conducted fitness assessments and provided dietary/exercise recommendations to individuals, including those with chronic medical conditions. He currently holds a PhD in Exercise Science, having completed a dissertation on the effects of obesity on skeletal muscle protein degradation. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) and is certified as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist by ACSM. He active as an assistant professor at a major US university in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion. He has published several papers concerning exercise interventions for those with chronic diseases. He teaches courses in Nutrition and Physical Fitness, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Skeletal Muscle Physiology, and is preparing to offer a course focused on exercise interventions for those with chronic disease.
