This expert has been the Chief of Pediatrics at the Chicago Shriners Hospitals for Children since 1981, the Medical Director of the Spinal Cord Injury program since its inception in 1983, and in 2005 became the Assistant Chief of Staff, Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University and an MD from University of Illinois. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the Subspecialty of Spinal Cord Injury Medicine. He is the immediate Past-President of the American Spinal Injury Association and Past-Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Consortium for Spinal Cord Medicine, as well as Past President of the Chicago Pediatric Society and the American Paraplegia Society.
