Expert Qualifications

This highly-qualified expert has over 15 years of experience as an oncology and gerontological nurse. She completed her academic training at the University of North Carolina, earning her BSN, an MSN in nursing administration, her PhD in nursing, and an interdisciplinary certificate in aging. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer care quality at the University of North Carolina. She is a registered nurse in North Carolina and is board-certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center as a gerontological registered nurse. This expert also holds certifications as an oncology nurse and a chemotherapy/biotherapy provider. She is active in her field as a member of several organizations, including the Oncology Nursing Society, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Gerontological Society of America. She is also highly involved in oncology research, having been the principal investigator for several studies, authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and spoken as an invited speaker at multiple conferences throughout her career. She has formerly served as a clinical nurse in inpatient medical oncology at Wake Forest University, a nurse and supervisor of independent and assisted living at Well-Spring Retirement Community, a clinical instructor of nursing at Duke University, and an adjunct assistant professor of nursing at the University of North Carolina. Currently, this expert serves as an assistant professor of nursing at a major university and a per diem clinical nurse in inpatient medical oncology at a university-affiliated medical center in North Carolina.
