He received his Ph.D. and M.D., from Cornell University prior to completing a neurosurgical residency at the Neurological Institute of New York at Columbia University, where he received the Congress of Neurological Surgeons' Resident Award. He then went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at the Children's National Medical Center. A Member of multiple prestigious neurosurgical organizations, he currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at a major medical university, where he is also the Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery.
