Expert Qualifications

This highly-qualified nephrology expert has demonstrated experience in all aspects of care for patients with kidney diseases–including transplant, kidney stones, hypertension, and dialysis–in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. He earned his MD from Grigore T Popa School of Medicine in Romania, as well as a MS in health care delivery from Dartmouth's Institute for Health Policy at Geisel School of Medicine. After earning his MD, this expert completed a pathology internship at the University of Missouri followed by an internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at the University of Kentucky. In addition to being board certified in both internal medicine and nephrology, he is certified as a hypertension specialist and as a physician executive. He is active in his field, both as an author of over 50 scientific publications and as a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology. He formerly served as an assistant professor at both the University of Arkansas and the University of Iowa, as well as the director of the University of Iowa's Home Dialysis Program. Currently, this expert is a clinical professor and director of the Dialysis Program at a university and an attending nephrologist at a medical center, all in Iowa.
