Expert Qualifications

This highly qualified expert is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine and has been practicing for 20+ years. He completed his internship training at Ain Shams University Hospital and his residency training in pediatrics in Philadelphia, and his fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Columbia University. He is a member of various professional associations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Pediatric Association for Research. He has published 100+ peer-reviewed journal articles with a focus area on birth asphyxia and ventilation. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, as well as an editorial board member for the Journal of Clinical Neonatology. He lectures both nationally and internationally and was honored with the District of Columbia Hospitals Association's "Patient Safety Award" in 2002. Currently, he is the chairman of newborn services at a top-ranked medical center/ university. He also founded and directed the Neonatal Neurology and Brain Development Fellowship Program. Additionally, he is a professor of pediatrics and ob/gyn.
