Expert Qualifications

This expert has been a practicing nurse for nearly 20 years. A licensed registered nurse, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri. This expert has extensive experience in quality control and ensuring proper standards and protocols are being followed and met. A Risk Management Consultant for Health Cap/HCRMS, she conduced training workshops and consultation for long-term care facility staff in quality insurance and improvement, risk management, safety management, risk mitigation, and best practices. As a Quality Educator with Primaris, she worked with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as part of the Quality Improvement Organization for the state of Missouri, educating, consulting, and providing resource materials to skilled nursing staff to promote improvement in resident care. Currently a Clinical Educator and Consultant for a major university, she continues to work with Quality Improvement of Missouri and provides educational presentations throughout the state for long term care facilities, the Missouri League of Nursing, and various hospitals, targeting specific audiences and quality of care issues. This expert is also an independent Nurse Consultant and is experienced in reviewing legal cases as an expert witness, analyzing medical malpractice files, and analyzing standard of care, causation, and damage issues.
