This former Salt Lake City police officer was with the force for two periods spanning from 1984 until 2004. He spent time as a Patrol Officer, a Field Training Officer, and a Detective, working in Vice, Narcotics, and Financial/Computer crimes, among other departments. He was graduated from Utah POST (Peace Officer Standard and Training) the Utah Drug Academy and completed several courses relating to Law Enforcement. These include; Interviews and Interrogations, Search Warrant writing, applications and affidavits, and Computer Crimes. He served as a Chief of Police and Security for the Department of Veterans Affairs during this time period. Since 2004, the expert has worked as an independent consultant and investigator. He has a B.S. in Sociology and an M.B.A. He is bi-lingual and can read, write and speak Spanish. He was also a primary contributor to the First Congressional Study on Gulf War Illness.
