He also earned his Master's in public administration and a diploma from the Law Enforcement Academy at Madison Area Technical College. He served with the Wisconsin Dells Police Department as a K-9 handler, sergeant, and lieutenant for 19 years before teaching criminal justice full time at a large Wisconsin technical college.
