Expert Qualifications

This qualified expert has demonstrated experience in the field of hospice and palliative medicine. She received her BA in Spanish from Spelman College before earning her MD from Meharry Medical College. She then completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Texas and a fellowship in hospice and palliative care at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. This expert is board-certified in family medicine, with a subspecialty in hospice and palliative medicine. She is active in her field as a member of several associations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She is also involved in research in her field, having spoken at several palliative medicine conferences and authored various medical commentaries and textbook chapters. Her former positions include moonlighter for emergency room and urgent care at the University of Texas and lead ambulatory physician of palliative medicine at the University Medical Center in Louisiana. Currently, this expert serves as a clinical assistant professor of palliative medicine at a distinguished medical school and as a palliative medicine physician for a healthcare system in Louisiana.
