This experienced family medicine physician and hospitalist has been actively practicing in a diverse array of clinical settings for more than 30 years. After earning her MD from Texas A&M University, she pursued her residency in Family Medicine at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas where she later served as faculty and developed a nationally known global health program. She is board certified in Family Medicine with sub-specialties in Geriatrics, Tropical Medicine, and Quality Assurance. She has extensive experience practicing in Nepal, where she helped to start a medical school and founded a non-profit and community based development organization. She was Program Director of a family medicine residency in Texas as well as Academic Director of the only residency program in Alaska, supervising and training faculty, residents, and medical students. During her time in academics she maintained an active outpatient and hospital practice, and actively published in peer-review journals as well. Most of her practice has been full-scope including obstetrics, pediatrics, and hospital medicine. She currently works as a locums hospitalist and is licensed in Texas, Indiana, and Alaska.
