Expert Qualifications

This qualified expert is a board certified emergency medicine physician that specializes in wilderness and expedition medicine. She earned her BA in anthropology and her BS in marine biology at the University of California Santa Cruz before completing her MS in evaluative clinical science at Dartmouth College. She went on to earn her MD from SUNY Upstate Medical University and completed an internship in general surgery from Palmetto Health Richland and a residency in emergency medicine at Orlando Health. She completed a very prestigious fellowship in wilderness and expedition medicine at Upstate University-Syracuse and is certified in advanced wilderness life support. She is very active in her field as a member and fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Wilderness Medicine Society. In addition, this expert has published nearly 10 peer-reviewed articles and is actively participating as a physician for events such as race physician for marathons and state fairs. This expert has held several roles throughout her career including as an attending physician in the emergency department at Aurora Hospital System and Upstate University Hospital. She also formerly served as the medical director of Global Limits Racing International, which is a company that organizes ultra-endurance races internationally. Currently, this expert is a voluntary academic faculty member of a residency mentorship program in New York and is a locum emergency department physician for multiple facilities in Wisconsin.
