Expert Qualifications

This highly-qualified expert has over 40 years of experience in electrical engineering, with his work focusing on high voltage electric power transmission, distribution, and substation design, construction, operations & maintenance, control centers, and in particular electrical safety. He is also exceptionally familiar with industrial, commercial, and residential electrical systems, including the vast array of industry standards, codes, and best practice applications. He received his BS in electrical engineering from California State University before earning his MS in electrical engineering from the University of Nevada. A licensed professional engineer in the state of California, this expert is also certified by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation as a reliability coordinator and is licensed by the FCC in general radiotelephone, advanced class amateur radio, and as a global maritime distress safety system operator and maintainer. He is active in his field as an author of multiple textbooks and publications on the subject of electric power and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the National Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers. He worked for NV Energy for 15 years, as a telecommunications operations supervisor, a relay protection operations supervisor, a senior distribution engineer, and a senior substation design engineer. For the past 27 years, this expert has served as an electrical engineering consultant for an electric power engineering and safety consulting firm based in California.
