This expert earned his BA in Mathematics and Physics from the University of California - Berkeley. He went on to earn his MS and PhD from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. After receiving his PhD, the expert has held positions as a professor at major universities in the field of computer science and as an executive in private sector companies working on software development. He is also active in his field as a member of numerous software development societies including the Association for Computing Machinery, the Open Source Initiative, the Institute for Software Research, and the International Federation of Information Processing. In addition, he has published over 60 journal articles and has edited 11 books. His awards include being selected as a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE). Currently, he is a Professor of Software Management Practice in the Integrated Innovation Institute within his top-tier engineering university's campus. The expert is the director of an open source research program at the same top-tier engineering university.
